We honestly appreciate every single one of you whether you are one of our consistent blog readers or one of our milestone club members! Thank you so much everyone!
As we are near the end of December and the year that is 2021, what better way to start discovering some fresh ideas for the upcoming year. 2021 has been full of restrictions, isolation, many holidays cancelled, mental health struggles and vaccinations. Let’s hope we can begin to feel some form of normality without any regulations, be able to plan those long awaited holidays and see our beloved families as often as we please.

So let’s bring on 2022 and come up with those sparkling fresh ideas!
Because 2021 has been quite a tough year for me, I’ve been able to learn so many new things and be able to reflect on my life in general. I believe many of us have also been faced with a strenuous lifestyle, so I wanted to take a moment to share with you the things I have learnt and accepted into my life as normal.
Firstly,
I’ve accepted the fact that good things come to those who wait. Before I started this job I was out of work for 6 months, struggling for money and struggling to keep myself together. I applied for many jobs I know I wouldn’t like just to keep myself earning money so I could drive my car, treat myself and just keep working so I wasn’t bored at home. The longer I stayed inside, the bigger my social anxiety was getting and my mental health hit rock bottom.
Until I applied for this job (not expecting to hear back) a few weeks later I got asked to come in for an interview and I was offered the job within a few days of going for the interview. Since starting this job, my mental health has gotten so much better. I’m working a healthy lifestyle where I am able to socialise with my friends outside of work and socialise with all of you guys! It’s a dream job I could never imagine myself working in at all and I’m so glad I work for this amazing company.
Secondly,
my health is my most important asset. As previously mentioned, I struggle with my mental health and I’ve tried so many different techniques and things to try to help improve it. I regularly go to the gym where I go swimming, I also like to listen to music when I’m feeling extremely stressed. We tend to take our good health for granted, especially myself. When we have good health we don’t think about it because it’s there. Appreciating good health should be a daily thing we are thinking about, many of us catch a cold or a stomach bug however there are people out there who suffer with a permanent illness that can’t be helped. I’ve learnt that it’s a good thing to always take our good health seriously and not take it for granted.
Lastly,

cherish what you have in your life. Don’t get me wrong, it’s such a treat to have a brand new phone, a new car, new house…but how many of us sit and think about what we have in our lives is a treat. I many not have the latest iPhone, 71 plate car or my own home but I’ve learnt to cherish all of what I have in my life. I always used to beg my mum for the most expensive bag that all the girls had at school or brand new trainers. But since growing up, earning money and realising how expensive these things can be, it’s made me realise that I don’t need expensive items to keep me happy. I would rather have a loving family that I get to see all the time, play board games or have bbqs with, than a brand new car or iPhone.
Now that I’ve shared with you the things that 2021 has taught me, has this made you think about some life lessons you can learn from?
New Year, New me?
Everyone always begin planning their New Year’s resolutions, however because of the struggle the world has faced with COVID-19 the past couple of years, does it feel like our resolutions will be resolved with the rules and regulations? You begin to feel why should I bother making them, knowing we might not be able to complete them. As New Year resolutions have always been a tradition for many years, we are especially bad at not sticking with them. Your resolutions have to be manageable, not impossible, we want them to be meaningful to us.

My 5 Resolutions:
Become more emotionally resilient
as these past few years have been such a big struggle for all of us we have developed into anxious, resistant people and have lost touch with ourselves. Being emotionally resistant helps with stressful situations, as covid has thrown so many curve balls at us we have begun to feel on edge and uncertain of what’s to come. So, how do we become emotionally resilient? Number one priority is you and your wellness. Take care of yourself, eat healthy, drink plenty of water and exercise. You will then relieve all of that unwanted stress and feel a lot healthier.
Explore more often
I am the type of person to go to work, go home and stay in bed eating takeaway every night. I know that is not a healthy lifestyle so by exploring new places to go to, even if it’s a different way to walk to the shop, I am still exploring new places. It helps you to expand our minds, break out of our everyday boring routine and conquer those fears we have about trying something new.
Get my finances in order!
as I already explained, I love takeaway. But why don’t I try making my own takeaway? Buy the ingredients and make myself a Chinese takeaway. It’s healthier and I would feel better after making it. You can prepare your own meals and throw whatever ingredients you want in at the cost of half a single meal takeaway! You’re then ensuring your family is eating fresh, wholesome home cooked meals.
Self love
as many people struggle with self love it’s a good way to start learning now before it’s too late. It’s such a simple and effective way of accepting your emotions for what they are and be able to put your mental well-being first. Self love also motivates you to make healthier choices in life that help you as a person.
Scrapbooking
as I have begun making a scratch book about myself starting from when i was born to now. It’s a wonderful way to preserve your memories by telling a story you can read as you get older, it can also be a simple creative thing to do and unwind with a nice cup of tea.
